My Approach

My work integrates neuroscience, evidence-based therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), mindfulness, and contemplative wisdom to help you understand how the mind works and develop a healthier relationship with your thoughts and emotions. Rather than spending therapy trying to eliminate difficult feelings, we learn how to stop fighting our inner experience and build the capacity to respond with greater awareness, flexibility, and intention. It's not about stopping difficult thoughts or emotions, it's about building a different relationship with them.

As a first step in breaking free from unhelpful patterns, you'll learn how to strengthen your awareness of what is happening inside your mind and body, observe your external environment and how to effectively respond to the needs of the moment. I believe that lasting transformation begins with cultivating consciousness and is sustained through intentional practice. Together, we’ll explore how small shifts in behavior and perspective can lead to profound change.

We'll try out exercises in session, and you’ll always have tools to carry with you between appointments. I’ll share a variety of resources and techniques to help you build confidence and reinforce the power of regular practice.
